Description

The Senior Signal Leader Panel will address a defining characteristic of the Pacific Theater: The Tyranny of Distance! Vast geographical intervals present significant challenges to command and control, and complicate the execution of kinetic and non-kinetic operations throughout the Indo-Pacific Theater. This panel will explore how these distances uniquely challenge modern strategies and the critical need for robust, resilient, and reliable long haul transport and communication networks, that are maximize the Joint Forces ability to maneuver in within a denied, degraded, intermittent connectivity, or limited bandwidth (DDIL) environment. Senior leaders will discuss joint and multinational communication considerations essential for interoperability across this vast, complex region. The panel will examine innovative spectrum operations techniques to overcome limitations imposed by distance and potential interference. The goal is to foster insightful discussion, in an unclassified setting, and identify pathways to enhanced connectivity and operational effectiveness throughout the Pacific.
