Description
As Operational Technology (OT) organizations introduce new digital tools and technologies to their environments, their security challenges have grown more complex. Per the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-82r3 (Revision 3), Guide to OT Security, it was noted, while security solutions have been designed to deal with these issues in typical IT systems, special precautions must be taken when introducing these same solutions to OT environments. In some cases, new security solutions that are tailored to the OT environment are needed. This presentation will share critical insights obtained through continued focus on the State of Operational Technology and Cybersecurity. We will dive into the details of a recent survey of OT professionals to highlight global impacts and share best practices as we continue to evolve and refine approaches to the increasing threat landscape posed by OT infrastructures. This year's report shows that some progress has been made over the last 12 months in OT security posture and investment in essential tools and capabilities. But there's more work to be done to effectively manage an increasing number of attacks in a post-Information Technology (IT)/OT convergence world.
