Profile
Major Ziwak enlisted in the Colorado National Guard in 1996 and served with the 2nd Battalion, 157th Field Artillery Regiment as a Fire Support Specialist and Cannon Crewmember. After fulfilling his service with the National Guard, Major Ziwak attended and graduated from Colorado Technical University in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 2008 with a Masters of Business Administration before entering active service. In 2011, he commissioned into the Ordnance Corps from the U.S. Army Officer Candidate School.
Major Ziwak has been afforded many opportunities with the 75th Field Artillery Brigade (Fort Sill, Oklahoma), 597th Transportation Brigade (Fort Eustis, Virginia), 7th Transportation Brigade- Expeditionary (Fort Eustis), and 25th Infantry Division (Schofield Barracks, Hawaii). His tactical-level assignments include Maintenance Platoon Leader, Battalion S4, Company Executive Officer, Brigade Assistant S4, S3 Operations Officer, Company Commander, Deputy Division Transportation Officer, and Support Operations Transportation Officer.
Following his assignment with 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Major Ziwak joined the Army Acquisition Corps and served as an Assistant Product Manager to Product Manager Tactical Mission Command, within the Program Executive Office for Command, Control, and Communications-Tactical portfolio (Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland). Major Ziwak is currently stationed at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia, and heads the Services Infrastructure & Computing Environment branch under Army Capability Manager- Networks & Services.
Major Ziwak is a graduate of the Ordnance Basic Officer Leadership Course, Logistics Captain’s Career Course, and the Command and General Staff School. His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal (with M device), and Parachutist Badge.
