Profile

Mr. Matthew Picerno is the Director of the ASA(ALT), Office of the Chief Systems Engineer, Cyber Focal and performs the duties of the ASA(ALT) Chief Cyber Acquisition Officer (CCAO). Mr. Picerno helps lead a coordinated, comprehensive acquisition approach to enhance cyber resiliency and survivability across OASA(ALT) communities and the materiel enterprise. He represents ASA(ALT) cyberspace equities in external governance bodies, senior leader forums, and partner engagements in order to shape cyberspace policy, directives and orders that may impact acquisition.

Before serving in OASA(ALT), Mr. Picerno led numerous Science and Technology efforts at the Army’s Communications-Electronics Research, Development, and Engineering Center (CERDEC). His past assignments combine technical and programmatic expertise in the integration of C4ISR capabilities across foundation, terrestrial, and spatial layers to provide direct military operations/intelligence support.
