Profile

LTC William L. Heitzman is a native of Eaton, OH. He enlisted in the Ohio National Guard in November of 1999 and completed Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson, SC. He participated in the ROTC Simultaneous Membership Program at Wright State University, commissioning as an Active Duty Officer in June 2003.

LTC Heitzman’s assignments include 11th Armored Calvary Regiment Fort Irwin, CA, US Army Recruiting Command, Cincinnati, OH, 11th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade Fort Huachuca, AZ, 25th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade Fort Gordon, GA, Cisco Training with Industry, Raleigh, NC, Regional Cyber Center CONUS Fort Huachuca, AZ, Cyber Center of Excellence Fort Gordon, GA, and his current assignment Army Futures Command, Cyber Battle Experimentation Branch Chief.

LTC Heitzman has held numerous leadership positions to include Infantry Platoon Leader, Mortar Platoon Leader, Recruiting Company Commander, Assistant Operations Officer, Brigade Engineer, Senior Network Systems Engineer, Division Chief, and Branch Chief.

LTC Heitzman’s military education include, Infantry Basic Officer Leaders Course, Airborne, Mechanized Leaders Course, Signal Officer Advanced Course, Recruiting Commanders Course, Telecommunications Systems Engineering Course, and Intermediate Level Education Course. LTC Heitzman’s Technical Certifications include Project Management Professional, Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Certified Cloud Security Professional, Cisco Certified Network professional, and ITIL Foundations. LTC Heitzman holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, as well as a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.

LTC Heitzman’s awards and decorations include Bronze Star Service Medal (1 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (1 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (2 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1 OLC), Meritorious Union Citation, Army Superior Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal (2 Stars), Armed Forces Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Overseas Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Recruiter Badge, Parachutist Badge, and Combat Infantryman’s Badge.

LTC Heitzman is married to Tiffany and they have three children: Abigail 15, Emma 14, and Avery 8.
