Profile

Colonel Mark Dotson is a 26-year Army veteran and a 1993 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. An armor and electronic warfare officer by trade, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the USMA. He also holds a Master of Arts degree in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma.
Other military schools attended include the Armor Officer Basic Course, Aviation Officer Advanced Course, and Joint Professional Military Education II.
After transitioning to the Electronic Warfare Functional Area (FA 29) in January of 2015, he assumed TRADOC Capability Manager (Electronic Warfare) duties in June of 2016, reporting from his previous assignment at USAFRICOM in Stuttgart, Germany where he served as the acting Future Operations planner (J35) among other duties.
Other past assignments include Fort Bragg, North Carolina and the 82nd Airborne Division where he served as Squadron Commander for 3-73 Cavalry, Deputy Brigade Commander, Executive Officer, and Lead Plans Officer for the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment and Operations Officer for the 2nd Battalion of that regiment. Prior to those assignments, Colonel Dotson served as an Observer/Controller at the Joint Multinational Training Center, Small Group Instructor at the Infantry School, Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General (2nd Infantry Division), Headquarters Company Commander in 2nd Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, and Charlie Company Commander in 1st Battalion 72nd Armor Regiment. As a lieutenant, he was assigned to 1st Squadron, 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment.
Colonel Dotson is married to the former Laura Mazur of Parkersburg, West Virginia and they have a son, Alexander, and a daughter, Regen.
