More than 120 cybersecurity companies call Georgia home and generate over $4.7 billion in revenue every year – almost 25% of the global security market. Together, these companies employ over 10,000 network and computer system engineers across the state. 

Georgia is in the top 10 states with Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) across 8 of the state’s universities, designated by the NSA and the Department of Homeland Security.

Georgia created the nation's first FinTech Academy, combining the University System of Georgia's 26 public institutions with 120+ companies to train a robust workforce of fintech and cyber warriors.

Effective in 2020, Fort Gordon in Augusta will become home to the U.S. Army Cyber Command, the central post for all of the U.S. Army’s cybersecurity operations. More than 4,700 high-tech military personnel will be relocated to Fort Gordon as part of this growth within military intelligence, cyber and the NSA.
