Profile

Rich joined AECOM Management Services (AECOM) in April 2013 and is currently serving as the Critical Infrastructure Protection Technical Director as a Vice President, responsible for supporting critical infrastructure clients with making risk informed decisions. His team developed the Enterprise Risk Analysis Process (eRAP) that is used to characterize an organizations goals to help clients understand the impacts, threats, and vulnerabilities that stem from an organization’s dependence upon the technologies that underpin their daily operations across the physical, wireless, and cyber domains.

Prior to joining AECOM, Rich was the Director of the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence (OUSD(I)) Initiatives Group (ING) responsible for leading the revitalization of MILDEC and OPSEC to increase capability and capacity in these disciplines. Prior to standing up ING, Rich served as the Technical Director of the Joint EW Center (JEWC) in San Antonio, TX, were he successfully enhanced and integrated current and emergent Electronic Warfare (EW) capabilities to identify gaps and provide Joint Force Commanders with adaptive solutions and combat options for various military operations and tier 1 units.

Before serving as the Technical Director, he spent 3 years integrating Computer Network Operations (CNO) to support the Warfighter as a CNO analyst at the Joint Information Operations Warfare Command (JIOWC), specifically for the J34 Special Operations support unit. Here is where Mr. Johanning provided CNO and EW support to JSOC J3IO and SOCOM J3 planners and operations. In addition, he developed tactics, techniques and procedures for computer attack operations. Prior to his work at the JEWC and JIOWC, Mr. Johanning provided multiple layers of support as a CNO and Electronic Warfare
