Profile

Colonel Giesecke graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He was commissioned as a Signal Officer in 1999. He transitioned to
Functional Area 53 and is now a 26Z (Senior Network Systems Engineering).

As a Lieutenant, he served as a Platoon Tactical Officer for the Cadet Command’s Basic Camp at Ft Knox, Kentucky, a MSE Nodal Platoon Leader, and an Executive Officer for the 286th Signal Company, 11th ADA Brigade at Ft Bliss, Texas. His subsequent assignments include: Battalion Signal Officer for the 5th Battalion, 52nd ADA (Patriot) at Ft Bliss, Texas; Knowledge Management Officer for the US Army Southern European Task Force (SETAF) at Camp Ederle, Italy; Company Commander of the Brigade Network Support Company, Special Troops Battalion, 173rd Brigade Combat Team (Airborne) at USAG Bamberg, Germany; Automation Officer in the G6 Tactical C4 Division with FORSCOM HQ at Ft Bragg, North Carolina; Enterprise Security as a part of training with industry for AT&T’s Global NOC at
Bedminster, New Jersey; Staff planner and modernization officer with NETCOM Headquarters at Ft
Huachuca, Arizona; Deputy Director of the Enterprise Service Center for the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency at Springfield, Virginia; Director of the Regional Cyber Center – Pacific at
Ft Shafter, Hawaii; Commander of the U.S. ARMY Command and Control Support Agency (USACCSA) a
Field Operating Agency assigned to the HQDA G-3/5/7; and currently the Director of the Enterprise Cloud Management Agency a Field Operating Agency assigned to the HQDA CIO.

COL Giesecke’s military experience includes deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. His military education includes the Signal Officer Basic Course, Airborne
School, Signal Captain Career Course, Battalion S6 Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School,
the Information System Management Course, Command and General Staff Officer Course. He is a
graduate of the National Defense University, College of Information and Cyberspace and earned a Master of Science degree in Strategic Information and Cyberspace Studies.

COL Giesecke’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal,
Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Parachutist Badge.
