Master Sergeant Jason A. Lee is the Senior Enlisted Leader for the Joint Force Headquarters-Department of Defense Information Network J-3 Operations Directorate. MSG Lee serves as the advisor to the J-3 Director of Operations on all matters affecting over 200 personnel. He assists with the command and control of global DODIN operations and defensive cyberspace operations-internal defensive measures (DCO-IDM) continuously to synchronize the protection of DOD component capabilities across all warfighting functions.
MSG Lee was born on December 24th, at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. He dropped out of high school and enlisted in the United States Army in September 2006. He attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Benning, Georgia, then graduated Advanced Individual Training at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia, where he was awarded his first Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of Microwave Systems Operator/Maintainer (25P). He eventually reclassed to his current MOS, Cyber Network Defender (25D) in June 2015 from Fort Eisenhower, Georgia.
MSG Lee’s past duty assignments include Brigade S6 NCOIC, 18th Field Artillery Brigade, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Senior Computer Network Defense Analyst, 16th Sustainment Brigade, Baumholder, Germany; Senior Information Systems Specialist & Platoon Sergeant, 16th Combat Aviation Brigade, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington; Senior Help Desk Technician, G6, Eighth United States Army, Yongsan, Korea; Squad Leader, Charlie Company, 601st Aviation Support Battalion, Fort Riley, Kansas; Operations Sergeant, 1st Maintenance Company, Fort Riley, Kansas; Tech Control Specialist, 293rd Signal Company, Camp Carroll, Korea. During his tenure he has competed two combat tours in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM (2009-2010) and Operation ENDURING FREEDOM (2014).
MSG Lee is a graduate of the Master Leader Course and was selected on the Commandant’s List. His other military education includes Senior Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Basic Leader Course, Standardized COMSEC Custodian, Unit Prevention Leader, Combat Lifesaver, and Combatives Level 1 courses.
MSG Lee obtained his bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity Policy and Management with an Information Systems Management minor from the University of Maryland Global Campus in 2020. His technical certifications include CompTIA CASP+, Security+, EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker, and several Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) certifications. He is currently attending a graduate program in Information Technology from University of Arkansas – Grantham with a graduation date of Winter 2025.
