Stephen Matherne serves as the AVP for Defense and Public Sector, leading the organization supporting the Department of Defense (DOD).
Mr. Matherne is responsible for the strategic alignment of ATT solutions and support organizations with US Governmental priorities, as well as thought leadership for both internal and customer organizations. In his current role Mr. Matherne leads the ATT Defense and Public Sector organizations, supporting all ATT DOD and Defense customer programs.
Mr. Matherne joined the company in 2004 and has held numerous technical and leadership positions throughout his time at ATT. Prior to assuming his current role Mr. Matherne served as the AVP - Federal Civilian, where he led the organization supporting the Federal Healthcare, Natural Resources, and General Government verticals; and previously served as the Chief Architect for the AT&T Government Solutions - Civilian and Intel organization.
Before joining ATT, Mr. Matherne held leadership roles in engineering and product management with Comsat International, Teleglobe, and Sprint Corporation.
Mr. Matherne holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia and is a graduate of the ACT-IAC Partners Program. Mr. Matherne resides in Leesburg, Virginia along with his wife and two children.
