Dr. Cynthia “Cindy” J. Young is the Founder/CEO of CJ Young Consulting, LLC, a knowledge management consulting firm, as Career and Leadership Strategist and Knowledge Management Consultant, and is the Tomahawk Mission Planning Center Certification and Training Lead with Leidos in Virginia Beach, VA. She retired as a Surface Warfare Officer after 23 years in the U.S. Navy.
Dr. Young is also a public speaker who also publishes articles for Careers and Knowledge Management beats on Forbes.com twice a month and writes a quarterly Management column for Industrial Systems Engineering Magazine. She has also written for Harvard Business Review and other outlets.
Dr. Young earned her DBA in Project Management and holds professional certifications as a Project Management Professional, a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, and an ASQ-certified manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence. She is a member of PMI and ASQ. Her book, The Knowledge Management Memory Jogger, provides skills to help optimize human-centric knowledge while improving individual growth. Her TEDx Talk, “A Knowledge Mindset: What You Know Comes from Where You Sit,” provides actions organizations can take to improve trust and retention using knowledge management practices.
