Working in the Enterprise Integration and Innovation Directorate, Mr. Wayne Walsh serves as the deputy chief data officer for the Defense Information Systems Agency.
Walsh joined DISA in 2017, holding both military and civilian positions during his time with the Program Executive Office Cyber; Command, Control, Communications, and Computers Enterprise Directorate (J-6); and the senior technical advisor team. Working across a portfolio of capabilities enabled many significant organizational successes culminating with the operationalization of Zero Trust offerings by driving Department of Defense policy, communications, partner comprehension, technical support, and organizational implementation.
Serving in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1994 to 2002, Walsh was a HAWK missile systems operator and Marine Corps Community Services specialist, recognized for efforts in both surface-to-air weapon systems and a myriad of technology services and support during his tenure. From 2011 to 2024, he served in the Army National Guard recognized as part of D.C. Guard special staff during multiple domestic operations, DISA Joint Regional Security Stack deployment and migration, and DISA Thunderdome implementation.
Walsh has more than 30 years of information systems and technology management experience across public and private industry including information and operational technologies, hardware and software architectures, systems migration and maintenance, program management, contract administration, and policy delivery.
