Paul Wertz is Senior Director, Government Business Development & Sales at eGain, where he focuses on helping federal, state, and local government organizations use trusted, governed knowledge to support AI adoption, improve mission outcomes, and strengthen customer and employee experiences.
He brings more than 25 years of experience across federal and defense markets, telecommunications, critical infrastructure, cybersecurity, public safety, and emerging technology. Paul also serves as President of AFCEA Atlanta, where he helps convene government, military, industry, academia, and public safety leaders around national security, cybersecurity, homeland security, and mission resilience.
Prior to joining eGain, Paul founded SherpaWerx and spent more than two decades at AT&T supporting federal, defense, state and local government, and commercial organizations. Earlier in his career, he served in public safety as a paramedic, firefighter, rescue operator, and flight medic, shaping his practical perspective on trusted information, preparedness, interoperability, and decision-making in high-consequence environments.
