Theater #4: DoD CIO Enterprise Software Initiatives (ESI)

Description

The DoD is undergoing various initiatives to better leverage the Department’s buying power, maximizing the use of enterprise software agreements (ESAs) to obtain common terms and conditions with best pricing through bulk purchase agreements.  We will present how the DoD has stood up a new Information Technology Capabilities Management (ITCM) governance process overseen by the Portfolio Management, Modernization Council (PM2C) that establishes an ESA Plan to identify priorities and timelines for ESA awards.  The other initiative to support the DoD’s ITCM efforts includes a DoD Instruction which codifies the roles and responsibilities and business processes to support the DoD’s spend under management objectives for commodity IT products.  https://www.esi.mil/
