Description

The Department of Defense (DoD) Cyber Workforce mission is to recruit, develop, and retain a highly skilled cyber workforce to defend national security interests in an evolving digital landscape. The DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) provides a standardized approach to identifying, tracking, and managing cyber workforce roles, aligning them with mission requirements. Central to this effort is the DoD 8140 Qualification and Management Program, which establishes policies for the training, certification, and career progression of cyber professionals across military, civilian, and contractor roles. To enhance workforce readiness, the Cyber Workforce Strategy Implementation Plan outlines strategic updates focused on talent acquisition, workforce development, retention strategies, and operational effectiveness. These initiatives collectively strengthen the DoD’s cyber capabilities, ensuring a resilient and adaptive cyber force.
