Ed Norwood currently serves as the Acting Director for the DoD Information Network (DoDIN) Modernization Directorate under the Office of the DoD Deputy CIO for Information Enterprise (DCIO(IE)). As Acting Director, he has oversight and policy responsibility for the modernization of DoD transport, optimization of mission applications and hosting, provider of best-in-class end user services, and modernization of IT interoperability and standards. This position allows Mr. Norwood the opportunity to work with DISA daily to improve Department-wide services and capabilities. Prior to his time at DCIO(IE), Mr. Norwood served in various leadership roles at DISA to include Enterprise Architecture and Portfolio Management Division Chief, Technical Director of the Office of the DISA CIO, DISA BRAC IT Team Chief, Chief of the DISANet/Current Operations Center, and Technical Director for the Services Directorate.
Mr. Norwood has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Morehouse College. He has a master’s degree in systems engineering from George Mason University and a master’s degree in public administration from Harvard University.
