Profile

Demetrius Davis leads the 5G CFT Mission Engineering Team, responsible for aligning current and emerging 5G technologies with DoD policies, strategic imperatives, and existing enterprise IT infrastructure to maximize warfighter benefits and accelerate 5G adoption across the Department. Mr. Davis combines technical expertise in software and systems engineering with specialized experience in commercial and tactical wireless communications, effectively engineering solutions that satisfy leadership, stakeholders, and standing DoD policies.
Mr. Davis is a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for IT-focused organizations and leaders across several defense, intelligence, and civilian agencies. As a member of the DoD CIO C3 Infrastructure team, he handled acquisition, category management, and business/cost analysis actions related to a rapidly-expanding enterprise mobility portfolio. He established the DoD’s inventory of approximately 500,000 commercial mobile devices and a $250 million annual mobility spend, and authored Congressional reports on telecommunications security.
Mr. Davis is active in public-private technical exchange forums and has participated in various standards bodies, including 3GPP, ATIS, O-RAN Alliance, and oneM2M. He served as the DoD lead for the ATIS 5G Supply Chain Working Group and currently co-leads the ATIS 5G Secure Profile Working Group. He has been a key thought leader on the Mobile Services Category Team (now the Federal Mobility Group) and multiple other security and networking-focused working groups.

Mr. Davis holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Lincoln University (PA) and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (NY).
