Profile
Current Position: Mr. Terry is the Chief of the Encryption and Solutions Group within the Cybersecurity Directorate (CSD) at the National Security Agency (NSA). In this capacity, he is responsible for protecting the nation’s most critical secrets from our most capable adversaries through the design, development, and production of keys, codes, and cryptographic devices.
Education: Mr. Terry is a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University’s (NC A&T) where he holds a Bachelor of Science from the School of Technology. He also holds multiple professional certifications to include Six Sigma Black Belt.
Prior Positions: Prior to his current assignment, Mr. Terry was the Chief of Strategic Mission Management (SMM) within the CSD. In this role he was responsible for the development of CSD’s internal strategy in support of National, DoD, ODNI, NSA, and CSD-defines strategic outcomes. SMM oversees the process for each of the CSD organizations to draft strategic implementation plans and monitors the implementation progress. He also managed the integration, prioritization, and optimization of directorate-wide requirements for organizational and capabilities needs, innovation funds, pilot initiatives and strategic partner engagements, as well as advocated for policy and authority changes, in order to achieve CSD’s strategic outcomes.
Mr. Terry served as the Chief of Orchestration Solutions. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing the resources, processes, methodologies, and tools used to develop, test, and deploy processing systems across the global enterprise. This included creating and maintaining processing architectures, frameworks, and solutions to support key mission customers across NSA and the global Intelligence community (IC).
Mr. Terry combines a history of government and industry experience that provides a unique, balanced approach to leadership. He has led some of NSA’s most challenging initiatives; while consistently achieving results in arenas such as securing our Information Technology (IT) platforms, trailblazing secure wireless at NSA and across the IC, creating protected unclassified platforms, and other key mission enabling successes. He has a proven track record of building high performance teams and starting new organizations, while applying a direct communication style when advising senior leadership and key stakeholders on strategic vectors that are vital to maintaining NSA’s competitive advantage.
Personal: Mr. Terry is originally from North Carolina. He enjoys playing and coaching sports. He currently resides in Anne Arundel County, MD with his wife and two boys.
