Ian Kalin is the CEO and co-founder of TurbineOne, the frontline perception company. TurbineOne is automating military intelligence by delivering machine-learning tools to strengthen adversary detection. His career started in the U.S. Navy, serving as a Counter Terrorism Officer and later as a Nuclear Engineer.
After the Navy, Ian was an executive in successful GovTech startups that served electric power utilities and first-responders. Ian’s large-company experiences include Google and Medicare.com, where he was the Chief Technology Officer for the $3 Billion publicly-traded company during an well-covered 10x increase in market value.
Ian’s public sector service also includes a tour as the first Presidential Innovation Fellow at the Department of Energy and as the first Chief Data Officer for the U.S. Department of Commerce. Ian’s awards include a Secretary of Energy Service Medal for his responses to natural disasters and, separately, the Robert Seamans Fellowship from Harvard Kennedy School for leadership in technology and public policy.
