Profile

Carter Farthing is a senior engineer within the technology branch at the Defense Information Systems Agency Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC).
Prior to joining JITC, Farthing served in the United States Air Force providing system administration in support of multiple ongoing war efforts.
Farthing has 15 years of experience researching, integrating, configuring, and utilizing automation technologies for functional, performance, and standards conformance testing of DoD warfighter systems. Supported systems include National Background Investigation Services, Defense Agency Initiative, Integrated Personnel and Pay System – Army, Air Force Integrated Personnel and Pay System and Defense Personal Property System. Currently, Farthing is leading JITC efforts in implementing DevSecOps development pipelines, integrating machine learning and artificial intelligence into test methodologies, and updating test capabilities to support big data requirements.
Farthing’s education includes a bachelor’s degree in computer science and master’s degrees in management of information systems, and information security, Additionally, he holds certifications in computer networking, operating systems, and system security.
