Profile
Sean is the Director of Cybersecurity for Leidos’ largest IT services contract. He is responsible for providing technical and strategic leadership spanning various aspects of cybersecurity including 24/7/365 worldwide cyber defense support, network defense and sensing architecture, and cybersecurity policy. Sean also offers cyber defense strategy expertise to senior customer leadership in the areas of cyber capabilities, data, operations, and future planning.
Sean’s professional career began with a wide smattering of information technology assignments and coalesced over the span of four years into a drive and passion for cybersecurity within Lockheed Martin’s Computer Incident and Response Team (LM-CIRT). As a cybersecurity analyst, Sean enjoyed and excelled at applying sound analytical practices while striving to automate and innovate in new ways to stay ahead of the adversary.
Since his time at LM-CIRT, Sean has led teams and organizations of cyber defenders with increasing scope and scale. Those that work with him often quote his constant motto to “use your brain” – a motto engendered by constantly driving analysts to apply critical thinking and mental rigor to problems vice shortcutting their analysis or simply giving up. Cybersecurity tools continue to push the envelope with new capabilities, Sean strives to ensure that the skills and abilities of his cybersecurity analysts do likewise.
Sean enjoys languages and is fluent in Spanish, and Norwegian in addition to English. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Tanya, and their four energetic children. Sean’s other passions include cooking, grilling, fly fishing, traveling, mediocre salsa dancing, and socializing with friends.
