Profile
Tim Brown has been involved in internetwork engineering and operations since 1995, originally serving as a support engineer in small ISPs in the Midwest. His experience since then has included a variety of technical and management roles at companies involved in digital music distribution, OEMs such as Cisco Systems, a variety of VARs and distributors, hosting and Internet service providers and consulting.
During his tenure at Cisco, Tim spoke at and managed tracks for Cisco Live for video, core routing and switching, and security, assisted in worldwide SE education through the SEVT program, performed network and security engineering and presales support for AT&T Wireless, and handled a diverse global customer base. Tim was involved in presales engineering, consultative support, and network and security architecture for eight of the Top 10 global telecoms.
His consulting experience includes several large engagements, including application delivery architecture for a top 10 US airline, security engineering and architecture for large institutional investors, work at several major retail banks both private and public, and handling data center consolidations for large enterprise customers in oil and gas, finance, and healthcare as the sole POC for network and systems virtualization.
His current role is in managing the security and virtualization practice for Network Utility Force, where his generalist background helps deliver implementations and successful projects across a broad portfolio of technologies.
