Profile

Denise McFaddin is currently the lead for Identity, Credential and Access Management at the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) of the US Department of Defense (DoD). DMDC is a high performing operational support organization reporting to the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness. DMDC maintains the central DoD repository of over 50 million identity records for the DoD including the military, civilians, veterans, retirees, family members, contractors and affiliates. DMDC’s identity and credential management services directly support the security of DoD’s networks, facilities, IT assets and personnel across the DoD enterprise.
Ms. McFaddin is a results-driven public servant inspired by opportunities to lead federal organizations in innovation and transformational shifts with a focus on customer experience. In her previous role as program manager for Defense Travel, Ms. McFaddin directed the modernization and user experience improvement of the Defense Travel System that supports over three million travelers. Concurrently, Ms. McFaddin led the initial collaboration effort with the innovators at the Defense Digital Services and US Digital Services to transform travel for the DoD using commercial travel solutions.
Prior to that, she led the Common Access Card (CAC) program and managed the DoD’s award winning Smart Card Program through its evolution to meet the Federal PIV specifications implementing HSPD 12 in support of interoperability, secure information sharing and federation across the Federal government and its industry partners. Ms. McFaddin has also managed the Identity Services portfolio in support of sponsorship for DoD credentials and identity and credential self-service offerings.
Ms. McFaddin holds a B.S. in Computer Science and Information Technology from California State University, Monterey Bay and has completed the Identity Management Masters Certificate Program at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA and the Key Executive Leadership Development Program at the American University, Washington D.C.
