Profile
Mr. Chudow is the Cybersecurity Technical Advisor for the Cyber Development Directorate at the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). He is on a detail at DISA from the National Security Agency (NSA) to broaden his enterprise perspective and assist in cultivating cross-organizational collaboration. In this capacity he facilitates improving the cybersecurity of the enterprise services that DISA provides for the Department of Defense (DoD), and thereby improves the cybersecurity of all of DoD.
In this position, Mr. Chudow has been focusing mainly on identity, endpoint, and perimeter capabilities. He is spearheading DoD’s implementation of the Department of Homeland Security’s Binding Operational Directive (BOD) 18-01 for applying industry best practices to improve the department’s email and web security, as these are two of the biggest threat vectors into the Department’s unclassified network. He has also been working on improving the trust in DoD Public Key Infrastructure certificates, the next generation endpoint security solution, DNS security services, as well as numerous other efforts.
Prior to assuming the role of Cybersecurity Technical Advisor for DISA’s Cyber Development Directorate, Mr. Chudow held numerous positions during his career at NSA since 2002, including as a Senior Mitigations Expert, Technical Director, and Vulnerability Analyst. He led teams analyzing malware and intrusion techniques and developed cybersecurity mitigations to counter them, which were highlighted in NSA’s Top Ten Cybersecurity Mitigations Strategies and by the DoD Cybersecurity Architecture Review (DoDCAR).
Mr. Chudow attended the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree in Computer Science and Engineering in 2002, a Master of Science in Engineering degree in Telecommunications and Networking in 2002, and a Master of Science in Engineering in Computer and Information Science in 2006.
