DevSecOps is a culture and mindset for collaboration between development, security, testing and operations giving you a continuous process that is active throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle. While DevSecOps is an established, mature capability that is used throughout industry it has only been employed in a few pockets of the Department of Defense. DISA is forward-leaning in promoting the establishment of a DevSecOps culture and has programs utilizing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) toolsets for rapid delivery of mission capabilities. To further the adoption of this practice DISA is working to establish an Enterprise capability that will lower the barrier of entry for mission partners and enable a more streamlined and secure way of application development within the DoD.
