Defending in Cyber Theater: DOD Identity Credential and Access Management (ICAM) Policy and Strategy Panel

The panel will address the policy and technical challenges facing the Department of Defense to implement more robust authentication and authorization services for both NIPRNet and SIPRNet applications, and improve interoperability with our National Security Systems (NSS) and mission partners.   The panel will have representatives from the Department of Defense (DoD) Chief Information Officer's Office, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC), and National Security Agency (NSA).  Specifically, the panel addresses the following goals and benefits of an ICAM enterprise capability:

 1.  Publish a DoD ICAM Strategy to identity priorities, provide policy and implementation guidance, and use standards to deploy ICAM capabilities across different mission partners.

2.  Achieve data centricity to operate securely with DoD, Interagency, and coalition partners.

3.  Enable the secure and timely access of authorized resources based on mission need.

4.  Detect, identify, and authorize access to any person or non-person entity on the network at any given time, via continuous authentication, to support USCYBERCOM's mission to mitigate internal and external threats to the DoD Information Network (DoDIN).

5.  Support the goals of the Federal Identity, Credential, and Access Management (FICAM) architecture and Committee for National Security Systems (CNSS) policy requirements.
