Warfighter AI Challenge

October 27-28, 2026 | Hibiscus I

Tuesday: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM

Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Join us at AFCEA TechNet Hawaii for a two-day AI Challenge where warfighters put AI-enabled capabilities to the test. This challenge is designed for military and civilians to directly assess how AI can enhance joint warfighting functions and inform future concepts, requirements, and acquisition.

The AI Challenge is a series of surveys where participants evaluate AI-powered decision support, targeting, and planning tools to solve operational problems to support rapid tasking and engagement decisions. These AI capabilities offered by industry are designed to augment human judgment rather than replace it.

Evaluations are explicitly mapped to joint warfighting functions, including:

- Command and Control (C2): AI-assisted planning, synchronization, and battle management.
- Intelligence: AI-enabled collection management, fusion, and threat analysis.
- Fires: Target development, weaponeering support, and effects assessment.
- Movement and Maneuver: Course-of-action analysis, routing, and dynamic re-tasking.
- Protection: Risk assessment, threat warning, and force protection planning.
- Sustainment: Logistics forecasting, asset visibility, and support optimization.
- Information: Understanding and assessing the information environment.

Participants will evaluate where AI adds operational value, where it falls short, and what is required to build trust in AI-enabled support to joint operations.

- Execute mission threads using AI-enabled tools and workflows.
- Compare AI recommendations with your own judgment and TTPs.
- Provide structured feedback on usability, trust, and operational effectiveness.
- Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for integrating AI into joint warfighting functions.
- Joint and component warfighters across all domains.
- Operational planners and battle staff.
- C2, ISR, fires, maneuver, protection, sustainment, and information professionals.
- Leaders and innovators driving AI adoption in the force.

Help define how AI will support joint warfighting functions in future operations.

Winners will be announced October 29th!
