Join us for the 2024 Federal Identity Forum and Expo

The Federal Identity Forum and Expo (FedID) is scheduled for June 26-27, 2024, in Baltimore, MD. This event will be held concurrently with the AFCEA International TechNet Cyber Conference and Expo.

Since 1995, FedID has stood as the U.S. federal government's primary forum for outreach and collaboration within the global identity community. Joining forces with AFCEA's TechNet Cyber, which attracts over 5,000 cybersecurity professionals worldwide, this event will facilitate discussions led by U.S. Cyber Command, DISA, the DoD CIO, and various industry and academia partners.

These two independently developed and hosted conferences will unfold simultaneously and in the same venue. While FedID sessions will have a dedicated space, offering the familiar engagement opportunities, participants will also have the privilege of attending selected TechNet Cyber conference sessions and exploring the exhibit hall as part of their FedID registration package. The Federal Identity Forum (FedID) has been the U.S. Government’s annual identity conference since 1995. Its mission is to bring together identity experts to exchange information and enhance public-private collaboration to solve the federal government’s toughest identity challenges and help ensure a vibrant identity community.

FedID 2021 will be a predominantly virtual event, taking place August 23-25 and August 30-September 1. An additional in-person, limited attendance event focused on "Face Recognition" will be held August 26th.

FedID 2023 Planning

The interagency Planning Committee has been working for several months to design the FedID 2023 agenda. In addition to federal department identity update sessions, we’re developing crosscutting sessions such as PIV Modernization; ICAM Modernization & Zero Trust; Citizen Identity; Advancing Technology; Federal Screening Systems; Technology/Operational/Policy Horizons; Overcoming “Corrupted Information” on Identity Matters; and Policy Connections.

Continuing Education

Reviewing Organizations

AFCEA’s Continuing Education (CE) program is designed to support certifications related to U.S. Federal Government requirements. Some FedID 2022 sessions will be reviewed by CompTIA, GIAC and CertNexus to determine if the sessions meet continuing education requirements for certification maintenance. Sessions may also support (ISC)2, National Contract Management Association (NCMA), Project Management Institute (PMI), GAGAS, and Defense Acquisition Workforce continuing education and/or certification maintenance requirements.

We will update the continuing education flyer for the Federal Identity Forum and Exposition and the continuing education flyer for TechNet Cyber 2024 as the information becomes available.

TechNet Cyber and the Federal Identity Forum and Exposition are independently developed and hosted conferences which will unfold simultaneously and in the same venue. Participants of both events will have the privilege of attending continuing education sessions at both events.

Continuing Education Attendance Documentation

Formal attendance documentation is a benefit of AFCEA membership, and a service provided to attendees who purchased a continuing education (CE) pass for either event. Participation in an event session qualifying for CompTIA CEUs, GIAC CPEs and/or CertNexus CECs is required. On exiting the session, get your event badge scanned so that we can send your attendance documentation by email.
Those who are not current AFCEA members can join or renew at the AFCEA booth to qualify for continuing education documentation or can prepare their attendance documentation using session description and speaker bios available in event promotional material.
